TODDLERS
(18 months - 2 1/2 years)
Staff / Child ratio 1:5
Green Cube
Toddlers are guided through this phase of development in a warm, stimulating nature -inspired environment.
We believe that children learn through ‘nature-play’. We provide consistency in routines and daily experiences that encourage children to learn self-help skills as well as practical life skills.
Our toddlers will feel free to safely explore the learning centers, which are nature-inspired and strategically designed by our qualified Early Childhood Educators.
The toddler program fosters independence and helps children to develop a wide range of skills, such as Numeracy, Literacy, Role Play, Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Sensory, Personal and Social Development, Self-Help Skills, Arts and Crafts, Music and Movement, Yoga and Meditation, Problem Solving, Risk Assessment, Discovery and Exploration of planet Earth, Imaginative Play, Communication and so on.
The program is designed to build socialization skills, acquire independence, improve control of movement and increase self-worth in a safe environment that cultivates opportunities for grace, kindness and love. Support is given for toilet training and proper hygiene.
*Please note that all age groups will be using natural and ‘loose – parts’ materials to learn concepts in all areas of development. (ie. sticks, rocks, tarps, shells, wood, sand, water, mud, leaves, seeds, acorns, Pinecones, etc.)
(Loose-parts materials are things that can be moved, carried, redesigned, lined up,taken apart and then put back together in multiple ways. Loose parts can be used alone or in combination with other materials. Objects and materials are designed to be open-ended; learning focuses on the process vs the product.)
Toddler Classroom Layout
Our toddler room’s layout is designed to promote cognitive skills, sensory skills, autonomy, inhibitory control, self-help skills, and self-regulation. Toddlers can independently navigate through designated, defined learning spaces, while building relationships, confidence and self-esteem.
YOU WILL FIND WHAT YOU NEED IN ONE OF OUR FULLY EQUIPPED CENTRE FOR YOUR TODDLER.
